The wheel of Life

  • Kadampa Meditasjonssenter Oslo 26 Majorstuveien Oslo, 0367 Norway (map)

This course will explain how we can learn to make ourself happy all the time through contemplating the famous Buddhist image, the Wheel of Life.

This contemplation will introduce all of Buddha’s teachings, because all of the teachings are included in this special image. Below the wheel is a verse written by Buddha:

Make effort to destroy the cycle of suffering

Follow the path to liberation

Abandon all delusions

And learn to cherish others

By contemplating the meaning of verse, in conjunction with the symbolism of the Wheel of Life, we will learn:

How our human life developed in dependence upon craving and grasping

How our unhappiness depends on the mind of ignorance, and how, by abandoning this ignorance, we can remain peaceful even amidst the most challenging circumstances

How to escape the suffering, known as samsara, and attain the everlasting happiness of nirvana

Suitable for complete beginners or experienced practitioners alike – please come along!
